Holiday Episode
In this episode you’ll hear about some changes afoot. Burger joint The Bucket is getting new owners. We have an update on the plans for the drug treatment center on Colorado Boulevard. And there’s (hopefully) going to be a new restaurant in town across the street from Camilo’s. You’ll meet Nick, longtime owner of the Eagle Rock Italian Bakery. You’ll also “Meet Your Neighbor” — singer/songwriter Minni Jo. And Apryl and Laurel tell you their favorite Eagle Rock gifts.
Be sure to tell everyone YOUR favorite Eagle Rock gifts on the ER Talk Message boards.
Happy Holidays! See ya around town.

Unfortunately this didn’t make it into the podcast, but we wanted to share these great suggestions for holiday wines from John and Jen at the Colorado Wine Company.
For Christmas Dinner:
We’re really pushing bubbly for since it’s festive and pairs with everything.
Domaine Allimant-Laugner Cremant d’Alsace is a dry, pink bubbly from the Alsace region of France ($17.99/btl). Don’t be afraid of pink! Somehow it equals candy in the U.S. but most of these are beautiful, dry bubblies drunk all the time in Europe and the rest of the world. This particular one is made up 100% Pinot Noir grapes.
If you’re doing some sort of roast for Christmas:
Obsidian Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon from the Red Hills of Lake County California ($24.99/btl) This is a spicy, chocolatey, full-bodied Cabernet that tastes twice as good as its price.
For Latkes:
Chardonnay is probably the best pairing with latkes with the rich
potato/applesauce/sour cream. Domaine Georg Rafael Napa Valley Chardonnay would be great ($17.99/btl).
Light, earthy reds also pair really well with latkes (if you’re not doing
the applesauce/sour cream route) so I would say: Lucas & Lewellen Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County ($15.99/btl). Crispy potatoes and pinot….yummm.
