Hard to believe the end of summer is here. Hope everyone had a good one!

We’re glad to be back — we’ve got lots of things to tell you about in this episode. Elements Kitchen, a caterer and lunch spot in Pasadena, is moving to town. And there’s tons of outdoor space being created for public use in our area — from the groundbreaking of Eagle Rock Canyon to the opening of Garvanza Skate Park. Plus, we talk to Melanie Winter, director of The LA River Project about the parks and plans along our stretch of the LA River, known as the Glendale Narrows. You’ll also meet your neighbor, Rainey Jacobs, owner of the vintage clothing boutique Lucy Finch. Plus, you’ll get the scoop on our new watering holes from Dave Klotz, the Daily Nosh guy — who takes us on a York Boulevard pub crawl. And, finally, hear about some great summertime refreshments: rosés from the Armchair Chef, and my new favorite treat — raspados from Raspados del Parke in Highland Park.

See ya around town! Happy Labor Day!
Apryl and Laurel
